Updates and corrections
Our work is only useful if people can trust it, and rules change. This is how we keep it accurate.
On every city page
- Last verified: the date we last checked the rules.
- Source date: the publication date of the ordinance we rely on.
- Status: verified, provisional or not yet readable.
- Corrections: any change to the page, with the date.
How often we check
- City pages: at least once a year, and whenever we learn of a new ordinance.
- Market and tourism figures: each year when new official data is published.
When we get something wrong
We correct it, date it and say what changed. We don't silently edit findings. Corrections that change a verdict are noted at the top of the page.
Corrections log
- November 2026: Málaga. Our early research cited Málaga's 1999 advertising ordinance. It was repealed by the Ordenanza de Rótulos e Instalaciones Publicitarias (BOP Málaga nº 31, 13 February 2024), which leaves advertising vehicles in circulation outside the rules. Corrected before publication.
- November 2026: Madrid court history. A news summary we first relied on dated the Madrid high court's ruling against the vehicle ban to February 2012. The rulings were in fact dated 18 November 2010 and were reversed by the Supreme Court on 13 March 2012 and 23 October 2012. We now cite the Supreme Court judgment, which quotes the lower court's reasoning. Corrected before publication.
- November 2026: CNMC opinion. We had cited a competition authority opinion (UM/129/16) on vehicle use of streets. We could not locate it, so we have withdrawn the reference until it can be verified.
